Trip to 10 acre corn maze and short train ride! Ages 13+ ($14); Ages 3-12 ($7). Depart FBC at 12:45pm; Return approx. 6:30pm. Parents encouraged to participate! (If you don’t already attend a Church, please join us for our 11am service.)

Model Rocket Launch! Please join us in the FBC parking lot to watch the boys launch the rockets they’ve worked hard to construct! Meet at FBC at 1pm. Please let Jed Davis know if you can bring a snack/dessert for the boys to enjoy afterwards (484) 824-4649.

Dear Parents,
I’m excited to announce that Fellowship Bible Church has another action packed year planned for the Cross-Check (or CxC) Boys’ Club that begins on Wednesday, 10/7/2009. Here are a few quick reminders of what CxC is all about:
o Who?: Boys in grades 1st through 6th.
o What?: Games, Projects, Trips, and Bible lessons.
o When?: Every Wednesday night from 7:00pm to 8:45pm throughout the school year.
o Where?: Fellowship Bible Church
o Why?: To provide an atmosphere where young boys are able to develop healthy social, physical, and creative skills, while maintaining an awareness of God's important role in their everyday lives.
WORKSHOP PROJECTS
As always the boys will be participating in monthly workshops. This year we will be starting off the season building engine propelled model rockets! Please stay tuned for our scheduled launch date, where all parents and guardians are invited to attend and cheer on the boys as they shoot their custom made rockets 1,200 feet in the sky!
PRIZES
As last year, we will be breaking the season up into 4 quarters in which each class of boys will be accum-ulating points to win quarterly priz

COORDINATOR TRANSITION
Andy Small faithfully directed CxC for the last several years and did an excellent job! Due to Andy’s growing family as well as responsibilities at work and other ministries at FBC, Pastor Rob Turchi will be CxC’s coordinator this year.
CROSS-CHECK DEFINED
Besides “Cross-Check” personifying the rugged characteristics of our young boys, the name reminds us, as Christians, to constantly keep Christ (or His “CROSS”) and His teachings in CHECK in our daily lives. Jesus tells us in Luke 9:23, “If anyone will come after me, let them deny themselves, take up their cross daily, and follow me.”
My staff and I are very excited to have the opportunity to serve you and your sons, and we look forward to having another awesome year. ROB TURCHI
“Hi CxC families! I have been an assistant pastor at FBC for four years, and I also serve as a Chaplain for the Philadelphia Police and the Billy Graham Disaster Relief Team. My wife, Monica, and I have been married for over 8 years, and we have 4 sons. Andy Small has stepped back from CxC leadership due to the demands of his growing family, work, and other ministries at FBC. I will be the coordinator of CxC this year, and I’m thankful to be serving with such a great group of men! I look forward to getting to know you and your families better this year!”

“My name is Bill. I’ve been an active member of Fellowship Bible church since 1976. I am a husband of 36 years and a father of 3, now fully grown, children. Up until a few years ago my role of the Fellowship Bible’s boy’s club was club director. Although I have stepped down from this position, I will still be helping out as part of the staff to ensure that the boys’ activities are as exciting as they have been in the past.”
Bobby Springer
“Hello my name is Robert Springer. I am a husband of 12 years and a father of 2 boys. I have a 7-year-old son name Rocco & a 5 ½-year-old son name Nicholas. I am a member of Fellowship Bible Church and this is my fifth year being a Cross-Check leader. With having 2 children I know how important it is to add structure and Christianity to a child’s life. I look forward to meeting you and your kids, and having a fun and safe year at Cross-Check.”

“My name is Richard Smith. I am a current member of Fellowship Bible church and have been attending regularly for 5 years now. I am a 31 year old husband and father of two; I am also an electrician. Since Christ has changed my life through salvation by faith, I have prayed about being involved in some activity to share the love Christ has freely given me. The Cross Check ministry is a perfect place for the Lord to exercise me in offering Christ-like counsel and friendship to our youth, the future leaders of our society.”

“Hi, my name is Jared. I’ve been at Fellowship Bible Church since I was born 31 years ago. My Father and Mother are charter members of the Church. I’ve been a leader in Cross-Check (AWANA) for 8 years. I have been married to Kelli (a leader in the GEMs program) for 7 years and we live in the local neighborhood. I look forward to serving the Lord with the other Godly men involved in Cross-Check. I also look forward to getting to know you and your family this year.”
Jason Davis
“Hi, my name is Jason, my friends call me Jed. I have been married for a little over 3 years to my beautiful wife, Rebecca. I feel that God has called me to use my gifts by joining the list of great men of God above to teach the youth of today about the saving grace of Jesus. I came to know the Lord at this pivotal age and nothing can be said about the impact that Christ can have on a young man. Growing up as a good Christian young person is one of the greatest challenges in today’s culture and I hope that those who come to Cross Check can be encouraged and strengthened for that journey.”

Besides being the proud husband of my lovely wife Amy, I am also the proud father of two beautiful girls, Sabrina and Melissa, who are active students in the youth programs at Fellowship Bible Church. This being my second year working in the CxC ministry I look forward to meeting you and your sons.”

“Hi, my name is Keith Reilly and I volunteered with the Cross Check ministry because I believe that today’s youth need a strong Christian foundation more than ever before. My goal is to help facilitate the building of that foundation within this program. Since this is my first year getting involved within this ministry, I look forward to meeting your family.”

“Hello, my name is Tim. I’ve been a member of Fellowship Bible Church for a little over 7 years now. My wife and I live in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, and I work for the Philadelphia Streets Department. I have been a part of the Cross-Check staff for 2 years and consider it to be an honor and a great opportunity to put into practice the Truth I have learned through God’s Word, the Bible.
